Scorn, real name Dr. Tanis Nieves, is a fictional character in the Marvel universe. She first appeared in Carnage #1 (December 2010)

Tanis Nieves was a psychiatrist assigned to treat the supervillain Shriek. While attempting to discover Shriek's past, Nieves lost her right arm; it was replaced, however, with a bio-mechanical arm created from Carnage. Soon after, Nieves suffered hallucinations due to the prosthetic, and returned to Hall Industries M.D. to see Shriek. While Nieves was attempting to convince the staff to let her see Shriek, Nieves' prosthetic arm would not remove itself from the control room window. The symbiote, in reaction to being forced to move, killed all the restrainers. The symbiote then decided to choke Tanis, who fearfully asked what it would do to her. In response, the symbiote pointed to Carnage himself. Doing what it asked, Tanis destroyed the container and touched a piece of Carnage's body, to merge herself with him. Later, however, after the symbiote found Cletus Kasady, the original host of Carnage, it left Tanis behind. However, a second spawn was left behind as well. Shriek stole the symbiote, but Tanis took it back, and allowed herself to be fused with the creature, creating Scorn. Scorn then battled against Shriek and Carnage, alongside Spider-Man and Iron Man. Following the battle, Tanis was left with Tony Stark to be taken care of.

Superhuman strength, durability and stamina. Healing factor. Wall-Crawling, ESP (Spider-Sense), Immunity to Spider-Man's spider sense, Web generation, camouflage capabilities, constituent-matter generation, and is a techno hybrid.
