Read more about Ricky Wanero at: Wikipedia Official Site: Public Domain Ricky 1 is a 1988 American boxing film edited, writen, produced, and directed by Bill Naud. It loosely parodies Rocky. It is the first full-length feature film parodying Rocky. Ricky Wanero (Michael Michaud) is a male gigolo and stripper that sets out one day to defeat "The Champ" (Hawthorne James) in a boxing match. Unbeknowst to Ricky, he has been set up by the Mafia. The film is often noted as a horrible parody film, as indicated on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb. It became popular on July 28, 2008 when The Angry Video Game Nerd reviewed the film, as part of his storyline feud with The Nostalgia Critic. Special mentions include the lack of Rocky parodies in the film as well as various unnecessary cameos. The film was released direct-to-video in 1988. A bootleg company re-released the film on DVD on September 12, 2006.
Ricky Wanero has not been a contender in any CBUB matches.
