The fifth season of American animated television series Adventure Time, created by Pendleton Ward, originally aired on Cartoon Network in the United States. The series is based on a short produced for Frederator's Nicktoons Network animation incubator series Random! Cartoons. After the short became a viral hit on the internet, Cartoon Network picked it up for a full-length series that previewed on March 11, 2010, and officially premiered on April 5, 2010. The series follows the adventures of Finn, a 14-year-old human boy, and his best friend Jake, a dog with magical powers to change shape and grow and shrink at will. Finn and Jake live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo.

The first episode of Adventure Time's fifth season is "Finn the Human (Part 2)", and will end with the season finale "Only Wizards Allowed". The season has been storyboarded and written by Tom Herpich, Jesse Moynihan, Cole Sanchez, Rebecca Sugar, Steve Wolfhard, Skyler Page, Somvilay Xayaphone, and Ako Castuera while being produced by Cartoon Network Studios and Frederator Studios. The series is rated TV-PG.

A fifth season began airing on November 12, 2012, premiering with the second and third parts of the Season 4 finale. One episode in development features the birth of Jake and Lady Rainicorn's pups. Another episode set for 2013, "Bad Little Boy", will be another Fionna and Cake episode with Neil Patrick Harris returning as Prince Gumball and Donald Glover debuting as Marshall Lee, Marceline's male counterpart, as well as Madeleine Martin as Fionna and Roz Ryan as Cake. There will also be an episode titled Simon and Marcy, talking more about Ice King and Marceline's past.

Season 5 began on November 12, 2012 (with "Finn the Human (Part 2)"). It contains 13 episodes (consisting of 26 segments).
