Glenn is a fictional character from the comic book series The Walking Dead and is portrayed by Steven Yeun in the American television series of the same name. In the TV series, he mentioned that his parents lived in Michigan and they are Korean immigrants. In the comics, he was Maggie's boyfriend-turned-husband, and had taken the role of being a surrogate father to Sophia following the suicide of the girl's biological mother.

The first chronological appearance of Glenn in the franchise. Lee works with Glenn in 'A New Day' revealing that they are both from Macon, Georgia. At the end of the episode, Glenn leaves for Atlanta to find his friends, and the player can either have Lee wishing him good luck, or advise him against it.

Glenn appeared in the first episode with several other survivors at Lee's family's pharmacy, Everett Pharmacy Drugstore. He volunteered to go on a supply run, but got pinned down by walkers at a local motel while trying to save a trapped girl. He hid in an icebox until Lee and Carley came to rescue him, at which point he helped them kill the walkers and rescue the trapped girl, who eventually committed suicide due to being bitten hours ago. At the end of the episode, he decided he needed to return to Atlanta to look for his friends (leading to the events that cause him to be with the group in both the Comic series and the TV show). As he left in his pizza delivery car, he accidentally took Clementine's last working walkie talkie. Her other walkie talkie was broken during a struggle with a walker in the pharmacy, meaning that she now had no way to reach her parents.

Glenn is not the same age as many of the others in the central survivor group. Using ingenuity he made it out of Atlanta and reached the group on the outer limits of the city. Due to his ability to scavenge effectively, he was picked to go into the city often and find supplies. He uses MacGyver-like tactics to outsmart and kill zombies. To do this, he successfully recovers guns for Jim. Not long after Shane died, Glenn starts to develop a crush on Carol although due to his shyness he did not act upon it after meeting.
