Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis) is a "nutty" professor who makes a living by producing weird machines in his attic, while he is not at work. He lives at home with his wife, Diane (Marcia Strassman), a real-estate agent, and his two teenage kids, Amy and Nick. Wayne and Diane are constantly arguing. While Diane is at her parent's house, Wayne accidentally shrinks his kids and the neighbors (Matt Frewer and Kristine Sutherland)'s kids and sends them to his over-growing back yard with the trash. The kids try to make their way across the miles of grass, ants, bees, and lawn mowers. The kids find their way back and end up going back to "normal" size. Wayne still enjoys making machines in his attic. His wife, Diane, is now staying at home taking care of their new baby boy, Adam, who is now 2 years old. Amy is leaving for college and Nick (Robert Oliveri) is going crazy over this girl at school (Keri Russell), despite his nerdy being. While Wayne is at work, Adam is accidentally shocked by a machine. Everywhere there is electricity, Adam soon grows bigger and bigger and is now headed to Las Vegas. Mandy, the babysitter and Nick's crush try to help Wayne and Diane shrink Adam back to his normal size. Soon Police and other officials take notice and try to help. Adam is soon back to his normal size again. |
