Read more about Luminara Unduli at: Wikipedia Official Site: Lucasfilm Ltd. Luminara Unduli is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. She was portrayed by Mary Oyaya in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. She also appears in the animated microseries Star Wars: Clone Wars, the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the Expanded Universe novels The Approaching Storm and Boba Fett: Pursuit. Claire E. White asked, "The Jedi Master Luminara Unduli is an unusual and entertaining character. How did you create her character — were you given much guidance as to her?" Alan Dean Foster replied, "No guidance at all. Just a name and a couple of artist's renderings. I wanted to make her as different from the more familiar Jedi as I could without overstepping the bounds I alluded to in the previous question. It's unreasonable, for example, to expect a female Jedi to think exactly like a male Jedi...or an alien one...in every situation." The distinctive clothing and tattoos of both Luminara and her apprentice, Barriss Offee, seem to be inspired by fashions associated with Northeast Africa. In Luminara's case, her general appearance is evocative of ancient Egypt pharaoh. Her head cloth is similar to a Nemes, her chin tattoos resemble the braided false beards worn by pharaohs both male and female, and the wide leather belt draped down the front of her skirt is akin to the ornate strip decorating the front of a pharaoh's kilt. Luminara Unduli serves in the Jedi Order during the last days of the Old Republic, and rises to the rank of Jedi Master 10 years prior to the Clone Wars. Her Padawan is Barriss Offee; while in battle, they move in tandem, synchronizing every attack. CBUB Match Record:
