An internationally known team of heroes who operate within international laws to stop major villians
A formally recognized and sanctioned team in the public spotlight which follows a high moral and lawful code in bringing villains to justice. The Sentinels interpret the most 'by the book' definitions of justice, and consist of more conventional heroes than anti-heroes. These heroes may have some form of secret identity, or not, but it is assumed that they are known to the public in some way and that their actions are subject to scrutiny. Therefore they must operate within the boundaries of law when in action and rarely deviate from it. The Sentinels organization cares about appearances, and attempts to retain a positive image. They align themselves with lawful or even neutral good.
The Sentinels of Liberty and Justice came together for the first time during the early 1900's and World War One. An international team of Supers that fought on the side of the Allies and disbanded after. The team reformed in World War Two for the Allies and remained semi-permanent thereafter. They have a rotating roster which is comprised of the most just and upstanding heroes of several nations.
