He was the leader of a ranger platoon. His group of men were sent into the Canadian wilderness for a training mission, a wargame. Unbeknownst to them, they were being used as bait to capture a particularly obscure beast, a lycanthrope. Unfortunately, the higher ups had mistaken the numbers in the pack, rather than there being 4 or 5 like they thought, there was just over a dozen werewolves. The Canadian platoon and the retrieval squad sent to capture the beast were torn to shreds within hours into the night. However, his men held out for as long as they could, holing up and garrisoning an abandoned hospital they had stumbled upon. They held out until just before the dawn came, manging to exterminate the majority of the beasts. Their numbers dwindled until only he was left. When day broke, he emerged, clawed and bitten, roaming the the forest looking for civilization. He collapsed and the world went black around him. He awoke a few days later, right then, he knew he had changed. The world was immensely different. He had not a scratch on his body whatsoever and he could hear and see things he couldn't have before. Right then he knew he had contracted the curse of the werewolf. He adopted the name Night Bane and chose to purge the world of evil like his new self with his old abilities and new powers protects the week and feeds his appetite with the villains of the world.

He keeps to himself preferring not to talk nut to listen. Never afraid to fight however hell' do it only when absolutely necessary. He knows the evil that he is able to cause, experiencing it firsthand. He refuses to give into his primal urges and fights for man rather than nature.
