Garrett Wade (Umbra) was born in College Station, Texas in 1990. He attended school, made decent grades, and never strived for much. He was, however, set on joining the United States Marine Corps the moment he graduated from college. He was so intent on becoming the best soldier that he committed himself to making his body and mind the perfect weapons. When he was 13 he began his training. As soon as he would get home from school he would train until he passed out and woke up for school the next morning. By the age of 17 he was in top physical condition and an expert in multiple martial art forms and with any firearm or weapon. At the age of 18 he graduated high school and began to attend Rice University. It did not take long for his physics professor, Howard Bedard, to notice that he had an aptitude for the subject. It was then that his professor hand picked him for an experiment he was running. The experiment was meant to investigate a possible connection between the human brain and the molecules on our planet. Bedard asked Umbra to perform simple tasks like moving a cup or a pencil with his mind, but he was never successful in these tasks. However, Bedard did notice something strange when Umbra was concentrating on moving the objects. Sometimes it seemed like Umbra would flicker or twitch. Bedard then went over the recordings of the experiments very carefully and eventually noticed that sometimes Umbra would disappear for less than a second or teleport very slightly. He immediately began to challenge Umbra to make himself invisible and to make himself teleport. After only 9 weeks, Umbra was able to stay invisible for about 11 seconds and teleport around 7 feet in any direction. After a year of sustained training in these two fields he could stay invisible for as long as he wanted and teleport 154 miles in any direction to any place that he has seen, whether in person or on a photograph. They also discovered that he could control the growth rate of his cells and therefore cure a variety of injuries. He could also use his powers of invisibility and teleportation on anyone that he touches. He then tried to join the Marines and was instead sent to a special assassination team known as the Sicari. After two years he grew tired of assassinating targets assigned to him that he knew nothing about and decided to go AWOL and target people he decided needed to be killed. His whereabouts are now unknown.

Garrett Wade (Umbra) was always known to have a fierce loyalty to his friends and family. He has often stated that he would do anything to keep them safe. He has a strong sense of justice and believes that the United States justice system is corrupt. He targets individuals that commit “unforgivable crimes” and anyone who helps them get away with them. He feels no remorse for those that he deems unworthy to live but will always help those he believes deserve life.

Umbra has the ability to dicompose the atoms in his body and make them appear elsewhere. This power allows Umbra to teleport 154 miles in any direction given he has seen the location, whether in person or in a photograph. He can also bring others with him when he teleports.

Invisibility

Umbra has the ability to make his atoms seemingly disappear to any type of sight. This power allows Umbra to stay completely invisible for as long as he wants, but he can still be felt and heard. He can also make those he touches become invisible.
