Karen Fox was half-asleep, using her desk as a pillow. If anyone were to look at her, they'd be unaware she was a psychology major, former acrobatic gymnast and trained in several martial arts on top of nearly a decade of street smarts. She had the potential to do practically anything she could ever want to...and she was behind a desk, as a secretary. Granted on recovery from the beating of a lifetime, she was told, but it didn't make this any less insulting. She was a bodyguard dammit. That's when she was awakened by a phone ringing.

"Hello? RPA offi-... Ah, yes Mr. Redfield, you are very welcome, I'm sure you two had fun." Karen asks, trying to not give off a bored tone. "The check cleared, thanks for asking, always a pleasure to work with ya." she says, before hanging up the phone with a sigh. It had been three days since her 'talk' with Rob and she was stuck doing this. Looking at the clock, she smiles.

"Shifts over." she proclaims before standing up. Cracking her neck, she walks out of the room. No one would miss the few minutes it'd take Mary to arrive.

Karen's first objective was to head over to the training area, if Robert wasn't going to listen to her that she was better, then she would just have to prove it right in front of his face...again. About halfway to her destination, it occurred to her she would look odd, not to mention uncomfortable, practicing in a skirt and blazer so she dropped by her room to change. In a flash, she was in her 'sparring clothes' and ready to show off.

"Much better." she muses. Sports bra, grappling gloves, and low-cut shorts for maximum flexibility, something you'd see out of a female mixed martial artist or boxer. Much less protecting than her armored 'work clothes', but Karen knew how to dress for the occasion. Cracking her neck, she stretches a bit before stepping outside and into the training room, running into a trainee.

"Oh, hello Ms. Fox. I-I thought you were..."

"I'm on break, but thanks for asking." Karen quickly says. The man nods, before trying to excuse himself. However she stops him, and he turns to see a devious smile on her face. "You're gonna be free for the next hour right?"

"What are you planning Ms. Fox?" the man asks.

"In the field, you have to be ready for anything...I'm a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, recently picked up Escrima Kali and Zui Quan, have been doing Wing Chun since I was fourteen, and Taekwondo since I was six, all full-contact. Sounds good right?" Karen asks. Before the man can even think about how to answer, she continued. "Well, it isn't if I can't use any techniques correctly under fire. I need to be sharp enough to react properly, blend it all together. That's what this is for...your job is to try to suprise me, I hear your good and I don't wanna be rusty." she says, before bounding on her feet, waiting for the first move. Seeing him hesitate, Karen sprung forward with a tornado kick. The agent tried to block, but the force still knocked him to one knee. Karen would quickly deliver wing-chun rapid punches to the man's sternum, before executing an armlock which ends with the man's knees and face on the floor. The man tapped out to stop the onslaught.

"Don't go easy on me...save us both some trouble." she asks nicely.

Ready for Round Two

Letting the trainee up, Karen retakes her taekwondo stance, while her opponent takes a Muay Thai stance. This time the trainee grabs Karen before she can attempt to grapple, and begins delivering knee strikes to Karen's side. Each hit connects, but it does not stop her for long. She eventually breaks free before slamming him to the ground with a hip toss. Instead of using another submission, she backs off to let the trainee up, rubbing her side where the strikes hit.

"I'm fine." Karen assures, stating that she's been 'hit harder' before. She would quickly be floored by a surprise kick. Karen slowly recovered, wobbling from the strike. Hesitating, the trainee checks to see if she's ok, but ends up being sweeped for his trouble. Looking up he saw her still unbalanced looking, but more than ready to fight as her hand was gripping his throat.

"You don't know what Zui Quan is...do you." she asks, to which the trainee shakes his head. Smiling, she helps him back up. "Drunken fist". The trainee notices his kick left a bruise on her face, but she either didn't know or didn't care about it.

"Ok, now this time, I need you t-" Karen begins to say, when the trainee cuts her off.

"Mam, we've been at this for almost an hour. I think we should break." the trainee asks winded from the repeated sparring sessions.

"Very well, thank you. Take as long as you need." she says, bowing. The man reciprocates before leaving. "...this next parts probably best solo anyways." she mutters to herself before looking at the floor, thinking back to her old gymnastic days. She decided to 'warm up' on a training dummy before working on dodging. In one fell swoop she flipped clear over it, before crashing the dummy onto the floor in a flying armbar. After resetting, she does a similar evasive counter, this time jumping up on it's shoulders and bringing the dummy down in a hurricanrana. After seeing she could be practical with her counters, she began to 'show off', trying all sorts of cartwheels and flips, testing her flexibility. She ended it with a big butterfly kick, before hitting something big. Confused as she didn't remember anything being in the way, she turned around to see Robert standing there.

"Uh...hi."

He looked pissed. Karen weakly smiles.

"Whats up?" Karen asks innocently. Robert glances down at her with an emotionless expression. His body easy to read, he's obviously angry. "I can explain...I was warming up" she says innocently. Rob still didn't budge, aside from a low sigh. She eventually realized he was more worried than angry, luckily.

"Karen, why?" Rob asks, exasperated.

"I felt that I needed to prove that I'm ready to be back in the field." Karen insists. Rob sighs again, though Karen sees more. He's backing off, he's on the ropes, Karen thinks. She continues. "Come on, let me show you I'm back at 100%." Karen says, getting into combat stance. Robert groans. He is hesitant, but Karen would glare at him, she wanted this to happen. Robert snarls in response, but ultimately agrees to it, giving into his friend's demands.

"Don't expect full speed." Rob warns, before throwing what Karen saw as a one-two punch, jab and hook. She kept her ground and dodged each individual punch to prove a point. Rob tried a knee-strike, which Karen saw coming a mile away and avoids. Rob doesn't respond, but he doesn't have to.

"You don't usually telegraph your strikes....can't fool me Rob." Karen says angrily, thinking she's being patronized.

"I wasn't." Rob states. As far as Karen could tell, he wasn't lying.

"Punch me again." Karen says, confused. He throws a downward chop, which Karen rolls away from. She was never this quick this during spar before, was she faster?

"I said punch." Karen chastises. Rob just shrugs.

"You dodged it. Look, I came by because I wanted you to look into something...now it's fieldwork, but don't expect much for a first go." Rob begins to say, when Karen gets very embarassed. He really did trust her.

"So...you're saying..."

"Yes, I was going to give you a job." Rob smirks, canines showing. Karen smiles, when suddenly she gets a feeling that someone is sneaking up behind her. In a flash, she turns around, delivering a snap kick...knocking out the trainee, who had decided to come back.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" Karen says in shock as she checks to see that his nose isn't broken.

Rob shakes his head, almost laughing. "You're too fast for your own good sometimes. When you clean up, I'll give you the details."
